History

Launched in 2024, the Sussex 7s Series is the first ever county-wide 7s competition featuring men and women's 7s teams from across Sussex

Hosted across different clubs each summer, the Series promotes local talent and provides a platform for players wanting top-level or social rugby 7s

The first year started small and has big ambitions to grow each year with more teams, specialist coaches and referees, and with more entertainment for guests visiting each leg

The winners of the Men's competition in 2024 were Horsham RUFC and the Women's trophy was shared between Horsham RUFC and Heathfield & Waldron RFC

The county

In this great tradition, we bring you the Sussex 7s Series

The vision

The 7s scene in the UK has grown exponentially, with new teams and competitions added to the calendar each summer season

However, many of these events are one-offs, expensive for players to play in, and do not provide equal opportunities for women

This Series is the first of its kind in England: a competition dedicated within county, which provides consistency, an elite selection pathway, and a sustainable model for each host club
