The county

Home to rulers, conquerors, revolutionaries, and modern-day innovators, Sussex has seen many great pioneers and disruptors pass through its historic lands

In this great tradition, we bring you the Sussex 7s Series – an annual competition where teams from across the county compete in a multi-event league, accumulating points each round, to be crowned the best rugby 7s team at the Grand Final

The premier pathway for local talent to be identified by International 7s Teams and Unions – this is the place to discover the next global superstar, a stone’s throw away from their home club

The vision

The 7s scene in the UK has grown exponentially, with new teams and competitions added to the calendar each summer season

However, many of these events are one-offs, expensive for players to play in, and do not provide equal opportunities for women

This series is the first of its kind in England: a ring-fenced rugby competition for county eligible players, that's free for teams to play in, which provides consistency, an elite selection pathway, and a sustainable model for each host club
