The Series Story
The Sussex 7s Series is the first ever and only county-wide 7s competition in England, promoting local talent and providing a platform for players wanting top-level or social rugby 7s, as the Series is hosted across different clubs each summer.
Launched in 2024 with just 4 men's and 3 women's 7s teams, in 2025 this number grew to more than 12 men's and 5 women's teams, with an increased competition expected in 2026.

The Series has big ambitions to grow each year with more teams, specialist coaches and referees, and with more entertainment for guests visiting each leg.

The Vision
Our vision is to create a sustainable, inclusive, county-based 7s Series that provides consistent competition, clear elite pathways, and equal opportunities for more rugby in Sussex.

The UK 7s scene has grown exponentially, with new teams and competitions added each summer. However, many events remain one-off, expensive for players, and fail to provide equal opportunities for women, or other formats of the game.

So we created this Sussex 7s Series, the first of its kind in England: a county-dedicated competition designed to deliver consistency, develop talent, and support long-term rugby development in a sustainable way.

Support the Series. Support rugby in Sussex.
