Sussex 7s Series
Competition Format
Teams can win individual "Legs" or attempt to become the Overall Series Champions by playing every tournament!
The Sussex 7s Series is made up of several one-day tournaments, known as "Legs", held across the Summer at various venues in Sussex (read about the Dates & Venues here).

Different formats and categories are included, to give a greater opportunity for a wide range of rugby abilities and experience to compete in the Series (read about Rugby Team Entry here).

Each Team Can:

-
Win individual Legs, or
-
Compete for the overall prize by collecting points at each Leg to become the Sussex 7s Series Champions for their chosen category.

At Each Leg:

-
Teams compete in a one-day tournament to decide that Leg’s winner.
-
Series points are awarded based on finishing position (see Previous Results here).

At the End of the Series:

-
Points from all Legs are added together, and the team with the highest total is crowned Sussex 7s Series Champions.
-
Teams may enter one or more Legs, but teams must play in every Leg to become the Sussex 7s Series Champions.

Warm-Up Round:
-
In 2026 we introduced the "Warm-Up Round", hosted by East Grinstead, where teams can compete for the Sunshine 7s Trophy.
-
Points in this round will not count towards the Sussex 7s Series, so teams have the opportunity to win some silverware, without risking their chances of winning the overall Sussex 7s Series (read more about the Warm-Up Round here).
